The first weekend of matches saw plenty of goals and a couple of shock results, but it wasn’t a surprise to see Bayern Munich come out on top as they beat Borussia Monchengladbach 3-1 at the Allianz Arena.
On Saturday afternoon, Pep Guardiola takes his men to Eintracht Frankfurt and will be looking to continue the perfect start to the season.
Bayern are being offered at 2/7 to take this match, so the bookies do have them as the big favourites, especially as Frankfurt were thrashed 6-1 on the opening day by Hertha Berlin.
In truth, Guardiola’s men can hand out another thrashing here if they play their best football and it wouldn’t be a shock to see them find the net on a number of occasions. Mario Mandzukic opened his account in the Bundesliga last time out and he might be the key man for the visitors in this one.
Bayer Leverkusen also got a winning start to the season as they beat Freiburg 3-1 and they head to Stuttgart on Saturday afternoon, who are looking to get off the mark in terms of points.
At 15/13, Leverkusen could be the best value for this encounter as they have shown just how strong they are over the last year or so.
Elsewhere on Saturday afternoon, Wolfsburg and Schalke lock horns in what should be an interesting match. Schalke are looking to finish in the top four and are trying to get their first win of the season, whereas Wolfsburg know they need some early points to avoid being in a relegation battle.
Werder Bremen and Augsburg go up against each other as well and after their defeat to Borussia Dortmund last time out, the latter need to bounce back here.
However, Bremen looked good in their opening match of the season and they are sure to be a popular bet at 11/3.
Also, Hamburg entertain Hoffenheim and Mainz make the journey to Freiburg.
On Saturday evening, Borussia Monchengladbach and Hannover go head to head and the former will be looking for their first point of the campaign after losing to Bayern last time out.
If at their best, the hosts should take this one, but at 37/10, some might see good value in the away side, especially as they won their first game of the season.
Moving onto Sunday, the surprise package from the opening weekend – Hertha Berlin – head to Nurnberg and can be backed at 11/5 to come out on top.
Momentum is a huge thing in this league and while confidence is sky high, Berlin will be looking to do all they can to pick up as many points as possible.
Finally, Borussia Dortmund – who were 4-0 winners last weekend – play their first Bundesliga match on home soil as they entertain Braunschweig.
This should be a comfortable afternoon for Dortmund and they are at 1/6 to come out on top here.
We are all set for a superb weekend of action.
