Bayern Munich can become the first team in Europe’s big leagues to win their respective title on Saturday as a victory at Eintracht Frankfurt would mean the German top flight crown would be heading back to the Allianz Arena.
With seven games to go, Bayern are a massive 20 points clear and even if they lost all of their matches from now until the end of the campaign, Borussia Dortmund would have to win all of theirs to land top spot.
Jupp Heynckes’ men are in scintillating form though and are likely to take all three points this weekend as they have now won their last ten league matches and claimed a stunning 9-2 victory over Hamburger last time out.
Unsurprisingly, the away side are the favourites to win this one at 3/5 and as long as they put in a decent performance, there are going to be some champagne corks popping on Saturday come 4.15pm.
Eintracht Frankfurt aren’t going to roll over and let Bayern claim the title at ease though as they are in fifth place and only out of a Champions League spot on goals scored, so they have plenty to play for.
Manager Armin Veh knows that a win this time out would give the squad a lot of confidence ahead of the last six games, so a big performance is needed and they are out at 5/1 to win here.
It should be a very interesting game to watch and if Dortmund drop points on home soil to Augsburg, Bayern don’t t even need to win.
Jurgen Klopp’s men should be taking all three points this weekend though as Augsburg current sit in the relegation play-off spot.
There is plenty for the away side to play for and they know that the current champions haven’t been at their best this season, so should come here confident of a result. A draw is available at 19/4.
Bayer Leverkusen will be looking to keep the pressure on Dortmund when they entertain Wolfsburg.
Leverkusen are looking good for a Champions League spot and they can take a massive step towards Europe’s elite club compeition this weekend.
Also on Saturday, Borussia Monchengladbach take on bottom of the table Greuther Furth, who are guaranteed to finish in the bottom three and currently nine points adrift of the play-off spot, so look to be heading down.
Schalke can stay in the top four if they can take the spoils at Werder Bremen on Saturday and as the hosts haven’t won in six matches, the away side should be taking the points back with them.
The evening kick-off sees Hamburger and Freiburg lock horns and the former know they have to bounce back after the thrashing they suffered at Bayern Munich last time out.
Both sides can keep their Champions League hopes alive with a win, so this should be an interesting watch.
All eyes head to Frankfurt this weekend though as we could see Bayern Munich claim the Bundesliga title.
