Fulham considering bid for Tottenham forward

Fulham manger, Martin Jol, is ready to launch a bid for Tottenham striker, Peter Crouch, who appears to be surplus to requirements at the North London club.

Spurs boss, Harry Redknapp, has been in the hunt for a new frontman all summer, and Jol seems ready to capitalise on the situation.

Crouch will follow Robbie Keane in leaving White Hart Lane should he choose to exit this summer, managing only four league goals last term.

The Dutch manager noted: “I feel there is more to come from Zamora and Johnson but – we played too many long balls to Bobby. I’d like to add a few things going forward. We saw on Saturday (against Aston Villa) if we swap our No.9 I have to put Clint Dempsey there and I don’t want to do that.”

The Cottagers played out to a 0-0 draw in their opening league fixture against Aston Villa on Saturday, further outlining their need for a natural goalscorer.
