Reports suggest that Fulham are ready to join the race for Freiburg’s Senegalese forward, Papiss Demba Cisse.
Cisse caused shockwaves in the German top division last season as he netted 22 goals in 32 games, breaking the record for the most goals scored in a Bundesliga season by an African player, previously held by Tony Yeboah with 20 goals.
The Cottagers would have to stump up about £13m for the goal machine, but face competition from the likes of Sunderland, who are keen to mould an all-African striking partnership with Asamoah Gyan.
Speaking to German radio station SWR, the hitman said: “I want to leave. I hope that this happens before 31 August.”
