Fulham winning race for Birmingham City hitman

It’s understood that Fulham have submitted a bid for Birmingham City striker, Cameron Jerome, who is keen to stay in England’s top flight.

Birmingham’s relegation last campaign has prompted several of their key figures to look at moves away, in an effort to play at the highest standard.

The club are also keen to get rid of some of their stars, given the financial crisis the outfit are currently experiencing, and the high wage packets of some of their playing staff.

Bolton and Stoke were understood to be the two teams vying for the 24 year-olds signature, however Mrtin Jol’s side have upped the ante with a formal offer.

The Blues also look set to lose either Scott Dann or Liam Ridgewell, who are both attracting Premier League interest, in the coming days as Birmingham wrapped up the free transfer of Jonathan Spector yesterday.
