Mario Gotze’s agent has revealed that they have told Arsenal that the midfielder will not be leaving German champions Borussia Dortmund this summer.
Speculation had suggested that the Gunners had offered around £35.4million for the 19-year-old as it is believed they have had a keen interest in him.
Dortmund declared earlier this month that they would not sell the talented youngster to a Bundesliga rival but may be prepared to sell him to a foreign team, which led to Arsenal’s interest.
Despite this, with just two days remaining of the transfer widow, it seems Dortmund have changed their minds and will look to keep hold of the Germany international.
Gotze’s agent, Volker Struth, feels that a move away from Germany would be to soon for him.
“Mario will stay at Dortmund, for sure, the next two years. There is no chance of him going to another club this window,” Struth said.
“This is because he is so young and it is too early in his career for him. The club, the player and his family, we are all of one mind that it is better for him to stay there because he is happy at Dortmund.
“When there is a big club who want Mario, Dortmund have to tell the club that there is no chance.
“In any case, they will not sell him. In two or three years, who knows? I don’t know what will happen then.”
