Germany and Italy meet on Thursday evening in the semi-final of Euro 2012 and it has the makings of being a fantastic encounter between two giants of European football, as punters pile into Paddy Power’s unique offer – they will refund bets if German striker Mario Gomez scores last.

Looking at Germany to begin with, they have won every game of the tournament so far and seem to be the side to beat.

In the quarter-final against Greece, Joachim Loew’s side were comfortable 4-2 winners and raised their game when the Greeks scored an equaliser.

Loew was also able to rest Mario Gomez, Tomas Muller and Lukas Podolski last time out which goes to show the strength in depth they have in the squad. These three can now come back into the starting eleven fresh and eager to impress.

Germany v Italy Odds : Paddy Power Free Bets Refund

Paddy Power will kindly offer free bets worth £250/€250 to spend on Germany v Italy, and will refund bets if Mario Gomez scores the last goal! Claim here!

The Germans play an exciting brand of football and have players that are in their peak and desperate to remove the tag as the nearly men which they have been given in recent years.

As for Italy, they will be delighted to have reached this stage of Euro 2012 when not many people had expected them too.

Claudio Prandelli’s men came into the tournament on the back of three defeats and looked to be shot of any kind of form and confidence.

However, Prandelli installed belief in his side and they now look to be a top side with the big name players capable of causing another upset here.

Andrea Pirlo has been the main man for the Italians with his fantastic array of passing and calmness on the ball. In the quarter-final against England, a match that Italy dominated from start to finish, Pirlo was the best player on the pitch.

It is all set to be a great game with either side hopeful of making the final. Germany will rely on their front men firing on all cylinders while Italy must make themselves hard to beat. Kick-off for this one is a 7.45pm on Thursday.
