Getafe keen on Birmingham loanee

Hleb looks to be on his way out of the Premiership at the end of the seasonGetafe are looking to purchase Alexander Hleb who currently plays for Birmingham City on loan, should they beat the drop.

Contracted to Barcelona, the winger has had little opportunity at the Nou Camp and has been loaned out to Bundesliga outfit Stuttgart as well as the St. Andrews club. However, injuries and a lack of form has meant Hleb not playing too many matches in the Premiership either and Getafe, should they remain in La Liga will want to add him to their squad on a permanent basis.

For Barcelona it will be a chance to make a little extra cash on the player they purchased for around £12.5m and should the price match their evaluation, the 29 year old will once again be playing in Spain next year.

The Belarusian has played 15 times for the midlands club this season scoring just the one goal and it is believed that Birmingham City manager Alex McLeish will not be extending any deal for the former Arsenal player.
