Tuesday afternoon sees the first day of one of the most famous horse racing festivals – Glorious Goodwood – take place and we are all set for a thrilling few hours of action from one of the world’s most beautiful courses.

There are seven races taking place throughout the afternoon and the highlight of them is probably the Lennox Stakes, which is a Group Two encounter held over a distance of seven furlongs.

There is a strong field for this one and the current favourite is Aljamaaheer, who is being offered at 11/4 to looking to build on his win at Ascot earlier in the month.

This four-year-old has looked strong in his recent races and has been in second and third place behind the likes of Declaration Of War and Farhh this campaign – so has plenty of big race experience.

This won’t be an easy race for the horse though as there are some strong contenders for him to go up against – including Richard Hannon’s Producer – who is at 11/2. Richard Hughes is the jockey for the second favourite and if at his best, he is one to keep an eye on here. Hughes was superb on the first day of Glorious Goodwood last year.

Garswood and Fencing are both at 6/1 and do look to be decent value right now.

You also have Caspar Netscher at 9/1, Professor at 10/1 and Krypton Factor at 14/1. The rest of the field is out at 20/1 and over.

There is plenty more action coming from Goodwood on Tuesday of course and the opening race is the bet365.com Handicap, which has 18 runners and should be a good watch. It is held over a distance of one mile and one furlong.

There looks to be plenty of value for punters in this race as the favourite – Fast or Free – is at 6/1 and after three wins from four races last year, he will be tough to look past.

However, it might be worth looking at the outsiders here and Labarinto – who runs for Sir Michael Stoute – could be value at 12/1.

After this clash is the bet365 Molecomb Stakes, which is another eagerly anticipated encounter run over a distance of just five furlongs, which makes it the shortest race of the day.

Supplicant is the horse leading the way in this one and with Ryan Moore on board, he is going to be a popular bet, especially as he is in good form.

Hannon and Hughes have another strong entry in the shape of Anticipated though, who is at 7/2 with the bookies.

You also have Reroute and Ambiance as much-talked about contenders.

This Group Three trip could prove to be the race of the day.

The bet365 Summer Handicap gets underway at 3.40pm and with 14 runners in this one, it is another tough race to predict. All of the top trainers and jockeys are involved in this one and Montaser – who will be partnered by Jamie Spencer – could be a good bet at 10/1.

Beating the front-runners Oriental Fox and Silver Lime could be tough though.

The three remaining races are the Casino At bet365 E.B.F Maiden Stakes, Poker At bet365 Handicap and Mobile at bet365 Handicap and all should be interesting to watch.

Bring on a cracking day at Glorious Goodwood Festival.
