we saw an exhilerating day yesterday, with Sprinter Sacre the star of Friday’s card.

Nicky Henderson is of course the man that trains Sprinter Sacre and he will be delighted with the victory and the excellent form of his yard recently, but he is going to struggle for a winner in the National as he has just once horse – Roberto Goldback – who is at 33/1.

We could be mentioning another famous name after this race as the Walsh family might have an incredible day.

Ted Walsh, the trainer, has two entries in this one, Seabass and Colbert Station, with the former being partnered by his daughter Katie.

Ted’s son, Ruby, is then the jockey for the current favourite On His Own, so we have a strong chance of a winner from this family and you never know, they top three at Aintree could all be connected with a member of the family.

Looking at Seabass to begin with, there is a chance of history being made here as Katie can become the first female jockey to claim the Grand National and she certainly has a chance of doing just that.

The ten-year-old horse managed to finish in third place in the National last year with the same jockey, so they do have a good relationship and Katie has been a winner on him two times.

He had two runs at Fairyhouse in February and managed to finish in third and second. The trainer clearly wanted Seabass to stretch his legs, but didn’t want him to be fatigued coming into this one.

Katie knows there is going to be a serious challenge from her brother though and both are sure to be relishing the chance of going up against each other.

Ruby has had a decent couple of days at Aintree, with the highlight being the impressive win on Zarkandar in the Aintree Hurdle on Thursday.

He has the horse that the bookies ate as the favourite for this one and if the jockey can make sure he attacks at the right time with On His Own, he is going to be incredibly tough to stop.

Finally, we take a look at Ted’s other contender, Colbert Station, who is going to be steered by AP McCoy and is at 11/1 to come out on top here.

The fact that McCoy is riding the gelding certainly gives the trainer a better chance of winning as he is one of the best around.

You can get odds of 11/4 that any horse trained or partnered by the Walsh family wins the Grand National and that could be superb value from the bookies.

With these three horses all having links with the Walsh’s, it might be worth having a punt on them claiming the Grand National as all look to be in fine form.

We shall see.
