Jonathan Greening has completed a £600,000 switch to Championship side Nottingham Forest. The deal sees Greening link back up with boss Steve McClaren, whom he worked with at Manchester United and Middlesborough.
The 32 year-old midfielder was frustrated at his lack of first team football at Fulham, making only 10 appearances for the London club last season. However, Greening is confident he can be playing in the Premier League again soon, stating:
“I’m really excited about the challenge. I’ve been aware of Forest’s interest for about a week or two and I’m delighted to be here and ready for the challenge of getting the club into the Premier League,”
He added: “As a footballer I want to be playing week in and week out and when Steve McClaren came in for me and I spoke to him on the phone it was a no brainer really. ”
The veteran midfielder has signed a three-year contract and after Andy Reid, becomes Forest’s second signing under Steve McClaren.
