Gunners set to take on the Hammers without main striker – Arsenal team news

After being sent off for a head butt in the 2-1 win over Queens Park Rangers, Olivier Giroud is set to miss the game against West Ham United

Arsene Wenger has quite a few headaches to deal with as he looks to register a much needed win over Sam Allardyce’s West Ham United in the league game at the Boleyn Park. The French tactician is already without the services of Aaron Ramsey, Mikel Arteta, Mesut Ozil, Jack Wilshere, Serge Gnabry and Abou Diaby and now has to try and get all three points against fourth placed West Ham without the services of star striker, Olivier Giroud who was given his marching orders for head butting Nedum Onuoha in the 2-1 win over QPR.

In his absence, Lukas Podolski is likely to be handed a rare start but the German might have to wait for his turn as Danny Welbeck could slot in for the suspended Frenchman.

The team that beat QPR a couple of days back might be the same that plays today apart from the presence of Giroud but Alexis Sanchez will be given the more or less free role that he has flourished in in recent times.
