Reports from North Germany have suggested that Hamburg are set to relieve Liverpool fans of defensive midfielder Christian Poulsen during the summer transfer window.
The 31 year old Dane has looked out of place at Anfield since his arrival from Juventus and has shown little to suggest that he will be in Mersyeside for the forseeable future.
However, it has been suggested that Hamburg are still admirers of the experienced midfielder and that they will offer Poulsen a way out during the summer. HSV were interested whilst Poulsen was playing in the Bundesliga for Schalke 04 during 2006 but the Danish international opted for a move to Sevilla in Spain.
With Liverpool under Kenny Dalglish looking for younger talent as shown by the recent purchases of Andy Carroll and Luiz Suarez, it is likely that the Dane will be plying his trade in the German Bundesliga next season despite some encouraging comments from the manager during numerous performances. Although a value has not been mentioned it is likely that Liverpool will recoup almost the full portion they paid out to Juventus in 2010, that of £4.5m.
