Huddersfield Giants have agreed a contract extension with 24 year old Shaun Lunt until 2015 blowing any rumours of a possible NRL move right out of the water.
The England international is obviously delighted to have sorted out his long term future and is more than happy at being able to stay in England.
“It is absolutely brilliant to sort my long-term future out at the club, we have a fantastic playing squad here at the Giants. I have a lot of friends in Huddersfield both at the club and from the surrounding area.”
Lunt who scored very much one try every other game admits there was chatter regarding a move to Australia but the importance of staying in Huddersfield was a no-brainer.
“Although there was talk of playing overseas, to stay at the Giants is really important to me and so, when the club came in with the offer for me to remain here, I didn’t want to play anywhere else.”
