Hull City racing to pip competition to Ayala signature

Hull assistant manager, Craig Shakespeare, has confirmed that Hull have a agreed a fee to sign Liverpool defender, Daniel Ayala, but also that the club face competition for the youngster’s signature.

The Spain U-21 international impressed during a loan spell at the KC Stadium last season, and it’s believed that an £850,000 fee is enough to take the defender back there on a permanent basis.

Shakespeare commented, telling the Hull Daily Mail: “We would love to have him back on board here but there is another club involved.”

Swansea City and Ipswich Town are two other clubs interested in signing the 20 year-old, and if Ayala were to sign for the latter, he’d be going up against former teammates, the Tigers, on Saturday, as Nigel Pearson and his squad travel to Portman Road.
