The Champion Hurdle is one of the highlight events of the Festival and Paddy Power will refund all losing win single stakes if Hurricane Fly wins.

Hurricane Fly is currently being tipped as the 2/1 favourite for the race and if he performs at his best, he should come out on top here.

But, with such a great offer from Paddy Power, it is worth backing an outsider and if the favourite does go on to win, you won’t lose out on any money.

Willie Mullis is the man training Hurricane Fly and he is looking to guide him to victory for the second time in this Champions Hurdle following success in 2011.

The nine-year-old has missed a number of festivals and big events through injury over the years, but has won three out of three races this term, so it is easy to see why he is being tipped as the favourite at the moment. With 16 wins from 19 hurdle races, he is going to be tough to stop.

As mentioned though, with Paddy Power putting on a fantastic refund offer, you want to be looking at the contenders and the field is certainly full of quality.

Zakandar is a 5/1 shot and the Paul Nicholls’-trained horse certainly has the quality to win this Champion Hurdle.

The champion trainer is looking to be the top man at Cheltenham next week and will feel as though Zakandar has a great shot of winning here. He could only manage a fifth place finish in this race last year, but has since won three encounters and has a lot more experience.

With Nicholls is charge, expect something special from this exciting youngster.

Rock On Ruby is the current holder of the Champion Hurdle after a superb run last year under the wing of Nicholls. Now though, he is being trained by Harry Fry, so it could be a case of master v apprentice at Cheltenham.

Rock On Ruby has the knowhow in this race of course and at 6/1, is certainly in with a shout of claiming back-to-back Champion Hurdle titles.

You then have Grandouet at 13/2 and as he is Nicky Henderson’s best shot of winning here, you cannot write him off.

Hurricane Fly will be the horse than many are backing for this Champion Hurdle, but make sure you have been to Paddy Power before betting on this encounter. You can take full advantage of their offer and if an outsider comes in that you have backed, it would certainly be an afternoon to remember.

Cinders And Ashes, Countywide File and Oscar Whiskey are then all available between 12/1 and 16/1.

There are going to be a lot of money back specials from now until the Festival gets underway next Tuesday, but it might be tough for anyone to top this one.

It should be an enthralling race that you don’t want to be missing.
