The Milan derby takes place on Sunday, as Roberto Mancini leads Inter out for the first time in his second stint with the club.
AC Milan hold a one point advantage over their city rivals going into the clash, although both sit out of the top three spots.
Jeremy Menez’s second half penalty earned Milan an impressive 2-2 draw away to high flying Sampdoria before the international break.
Stephane El Shaarawy gave the visitors the lead, however Sampdoria scored twice in five minutes either side of the break to lead.
Menez levelled from the spot, before Milan held on to earn a point despite Daniele Bonera’s late dismissal.
Inter themselves could only draw at home to Hellas Verona, despite two goals from Mauro Icardi.
Luca Toni gave the visitors the lead, however Icardi scored twice to give the hosts the lead, before Gary Medel was dismissed.
Toni then missed from the spot for Hellas, only for Nicolas Lopez to rescue a late point for his side.
Mancini was appointed as the new manager of Inter during the recent international break, after Walter Mazzarri was sacked following some indifferent results.
Both sides won the home fixture 1-0 last season, with Nigel de Jong scoring the winner for AC.

Fernando Torres is expected to be named on the bench, with El Shaarawy favourite to lead the line after his recent goal.
Michael Essien and De Jong are the favourites to start in central midfield, with Menez to continue from a wide role.
As for Inter, both Icardi and Rodrigo Palacio will start in a 5-3-2 formation for Inter at the San Siro.
Nemanja Vidic has been linked with a Manchester United return, however will feature for Mancini’s side.
