It is understood that Craig Bellamy is set to reject offers from both Stoke City and Queens Park Rangers to join his former employers Liverpool.
Wales’ manager Gary Speed is believed to have allowed Bellamy to travel to Anfield to undergo a medical and to discuss personal terms over the move.
The 32-year-old has been told by Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini that he features in none of the Italian’s future plans and is welcome to leave the club.
In his previous stint at Anfield, Bellamy made a slow start to his season, taking him just under 2 months to score his first goal for the club. He made the switch from Blackburn Rovers after he enjoyed his most prolific season yet, scoring 13 goals in 27 games, which attracted Liverpool to bring him to the Kop.
Despite his unimpressive season at Liverpool in the past, Kenny Dalglish is ready to bring the Welshman back to Anfield. This would be Dalglish’s 5th big summer signing following the arrivals of: Jose Enrique, Charlie Adam, Jordan Henderson and Stewart Downing.
