Ipswich Town sign attacking duo

Ipswich Town can confirm the signings of both Jimmy Bullard and Daryl Murphy as they look to bounce back from a disappointing start to the season.

The Tractor Boys have managed to claim only three points from their opening four league fixtures and manager, Paul Jewell is hoping some attacking talent with Premier League experience will turn their luck.

Bullard has joined Town on a two-year deal after spending time on loan at the club last season, while Murphy comes to the club on a season-long loan from Celtic.

32 year-old Bullard had his contract at Hull City terminated earlier this week, after an incident on the club’s pre-season tour of Slovenia left him suspended.

Murphy has also spent time on loan at Portman Road, and is looking forward to his return, saying: “I’m looking forward to playing for the club again and we will see how it goes from there.”

He also told the club website: “If I do well and the manager wants to extend my stay beyond the year then I certainly would be interested but for now all I want to concentrate on is playing games.”

Ibrahima Sonko is also expected to sign for the club in the coming days, after a successful trial spell.
