The Africa Cup of Nations final takes place this weekend and it should be a fantastic contest between Ivory Coast and Zambia in Libreville as bookmakers make Didier Drogba’s side heavy favourites in the betting.
There is no doubt that Ivory Coast are the favourites to secure a famous victory, but Zambia have already showed that they can upset the odds.

It will be the third time Zambia have made it this far, although they are yet to win the tournament as a whole. For Ivory Coast, they are gunning for their second Africa Cup of Nations title, twenty years on from their first success.
Acting as the curtain call on the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations, this final really is too close to call. There haven’t been too many goals in this year’s tournament and there is every chance that the final will be settled by a single goal.
So far in the tournament, Zambia have conceded three goals in their five games and these all came in the opening two fixtures. As for Ghana, they haven’t conceded a single goal in the tournament, scoring nine times.

Ivory Coast will bank on their talented attacking players to nick them a goal or two – Didier Drogba and Gervinho to name just two – while they also have big name players such as Manchester City’s Yaya Toure to call upon.
Zambia are more reliant on team-work, resilience and relishing their role as the underdog. This is a method that has worked so far and they will no doubt back it to do so again.
