Jack Collison keen to stay on with Hammers

West Ham midfielder, Jack Collison, is hopeful of penning a new long-term contract at the East London club.

It’s understood that the club are hoping to hold on to Collison, and that a new contract would ward off any potential suitors, despite the midfielder still having two years left to run on his current deal.

22 year-old Collison has attracted the interest of several Premier League clubs over the past few seasons, and will again after returning from injury at the end of the last campaign.

According to the player’s agent, John Mac, Collison is very impressed with new manage, Sam Allardyce so far, stating: “Jack is enjoying pre-season and he has been impressed with what Sam Allardyce has planned at West Ham.”

Another factor which has impressed the youngster is Allardyce’s Premier League signings, with Mac adding: “He has also been impressed by the signings of Kevin Nolan and Matt Taylor and he is looking forward to the start of the season.”

West Ham begin their Premier League season against Cardiff City on August 6.
