Jay Bothroyd and Chris Burke leave Cardiff City
Jay Bothroyd and Chris Burke have left Championship side Cardiff City after both players failed to agree terms with the Welsh side.
Both Bothroyd and Burke were at the end of their contracts although it was assumed Bothroyd would possibly remain. The news now means that both players are available to other clubs should they agree specific terms for them.
The statement on Cardiff City FC’s official website read.
“Contracts have not been offered to Jay Bothroyd and Chris Burke following an inability for all parties to agree suitable terms.”
Celtic are apparently reported to be interested in striker Bothroyd having watched him last week although it is also rumoured that Birmingham City and Coventry City are also keen.
