ever, there are plenty more encounters getting underway and the Royal Hunt Cup is often another eagerly anticipated meeting. You also have the Jersey Stakes, Duke Of Cambridge Stakes, Queen Mary Stakes and Sandringham Stakes to look forward to, so it is an action packed day at the famous festival.
As mentioned, many eyes will be on the Prince Of Wales’s Stakes and this one mile, two furlong contest has one of the strongest fields of the entire week entered right now.
It is the two horses at the front of the betting that are attracting all the attention as Al Kazeem is at 9/4 and Camelot can be backed at 11/4.
These two went head-to-head at Curragh last month and it was Al Kazeem who came out on top, despite Camelot being the odds-on favourite.
On Wednesday, they will do battle once again and it should be a thrilling contest. When looking for value, many like the look of Aidan O’Brien’s charge and he is sure to bounce back after finishing second last time out.
Other horses that could be involved in this one include Maxios, who is at 11/2 and The Fugue, who is being offered at 7/1.
When looking at the front-runners, it is no surprise that this race is the pick of them on day two of Royal Ascot.
The Jersey Stakes will be the one getting us underway though and this seven furlong contest often gets punters in the mood for the day’s action.
This is set to be another close battle as you have Gale Force Ten and Garswood at 5/1, whilst Montiridge is being offered at 6/1.
These three all come into this race in fine form and they are represented by some of the top trainers and jockeys around, so it is a tough one to call.
Don’t write off Mutin either, who is a 9/1 shot.
The Duke of Cambridge stakes is where the fillies and mares take centre stage and this is only the tenth time we have seen this race take place at Royal Ascot.
There are eleven possible runners in this one, with the impressive Duntle leading the way and in truth, she might be tough to stop.
If any horses are going to challenge her though, then Chigun and Dank are sure to be the ones and they are at 3/1 and 11/2 respectively.
After the Prince Of Wales’s Stakes comes the Royal Hunt Cup and this race is held over a distance of one mile.
In truth, it can be a bit a bit of a lottery as there are 30 runners at this stage, but that said, there can be some cracking each-way value in this one and that is what makes it such a popular race.
Stirring Ball is the favourite, but still has odds of 8/1, so could still be worth backing in the each-way market.
Premio Loco and Field Of Dream might be good outside bets at 33/1.
After this one comes the Queen Mary Stakes, which is another race open to fillies, only this time it is the two-year-olds that can have their time in the limelight.
With 24 runners, it is another tough one to predict and stopping Beldale Memory might be tough as she is at 4/1.
The Sandringham Handicap is the final race of the day and is another decent contest.
We are all set for a thrilling few hours of racing from Royal Ascot on Wednesday.
