Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho is keen on taking his former Chelsea striker Didier Drogba to the Bernbeu this summer and the club are considering making a serious offer.
Mourinho is not willing to pay the transfer figure Manchester City require for Emmanuel Adebayor’s stay in the Spanish capital to be made permanent despite doing reasonably well whilst at the Spanish giants, and the Portuguese coach feels Drogba still has two very good years left in him.
At 33 Drogba certainly still has all the qualities for a striker and it is believed his power up front is what Real lacked last season despite finishing second in La Liga and Mourinho believes the Ivorian striker can cause Barcelona all sorts of problems given the chance.
For “The Special One” however, his main task at the moment is convincing the Real Madrid board that at his age Drogba is still worth investing in, with many believing him to be too old the board are still not convinced, but Mourinho believes Drogba can play at the highest level for at least another two years and expects to get more out of him than he would from Adebayor.
Although a transfer fee has not been suggested, Chelsea will investigate any serious offers for the striker as they look to Fernando Torres to spearhead their attack next season.
