World Championship snooker finalist Judd Trump has insisted that he has no regrets about keeping the same style of play he has used throughout the tournament in the final.
His attacking style has seen the youngster make his way through to the final by beating the likes of Graeme Dott and Ding Junhui. At one point the 21 year old Bristolian was 12-9 up at the famous Sheffield Crucible eventually losing out to John Higgins18-15.
But the losing finalist said of the game.
“I felt that I was going to pot every ball that I went for. If I wasn’t so confident, maybe I wouldn’t have gone for them. Those shots are what got me this far. To change my game plan would have been a bit stupid really.”
Trump added.
“I knew John was going to turn it on today. He’s a champion, he’s been there before, he knows what to do and he knows how to flip the switch and keep it tight when he needs to. He played better than me today, kept it tight and I missed a couple of balls in the last couple of frames. That’s what turned the match.”
At such a young age and reaching the Crucible final at 21 many things will be expected of Trump over the next decade something he is all too aware of.
“Next year there is going to be a lot of expectation on me. There will be a lot of players who will want to bring me back down to earth and beat me.”
