On Saturday, two games take place and the first match sees league-leaders Juventus entertain Fiorentina, who sit in sixth at the moment.
Juve are just three points clear at the top, so know how vital a win is here to put pressure on Napoli. The side from Turin haven’t been at their best in recent weeks and have had to grind out results against teams in the bottom half.
They must raise their game this weekend as Fiorentina have a number of players that can cause the champions problems. The visitors took all three points last time out and it was a much needed victory after four games without a win.
If they come out on top here, Fiorentina can move into fourth, so it makes for a cracking game. You can back the away team at 5/1.
Then, Napoli head to Lazio and no matter what the Juventus result is, they will be after another win. The away team in this one are in cracking form after taking 16 points from a possible 18 in Serie A and that has made them genuine title contenders. They look like decent value at 11/8.
Lazio were flying in the league, but two straight defeats have seen them move six points adrift of their opponents.
It is safe to say that Saturday should be a cracking day of Serie A action.
Moving onto Sunday, the early kick-off sees Parma and Genoa lock horns and the latter are desperate for the points as they hover just one point above the drop zone.
Genoa did manage a win last time out though, so should be confident of taking the spoils, especially as Parma haven’t won in four.
Mario Balotelli will be looking to add to the brace he scored on his debut for AC Milan when the side travel to Cagliari, who are on a four-game unbeaten run.
Milan can move into third if Lazio lose against Napoli, but whatever the result, they know a win is needed.
Atalanta and Catania also lock horns, while Palermo and Pescara meet in a massive game at the bottom of the Serie A table.
Siena have produced two wins out of their last three matches and now are just four points away from safety. They head to Bologna on Sunday, which is a tough place to pick up a result, but Siena seem to have a bit of momentum right now.
Torino have not been beaten in seven league matches now and this form has lifted them up to mid-table. They are on their travels to Udinese this weekend and if their unbeaten run is still intact come the final whistle, Torino will be delighted.
Sampdoria and Roma meet in the final game taking place on Sunday afternoon.
Rounding-off the action on Sunday night is a battle between Inter Milan and Chievo. Inter haven’t won in three now and could be in sixth place by the time this one kicks-off, so nothing other than a victory will do. Inter are at 8/13 to win here.
Chievo are in mid-table and can come into this one with the pressure off, so could spring a bit of a surprise.
It looks set to be another superb weekend of action in the Italian top flight.
