Juventus star Vidal on Manchester United’s radar – Friday’s Rumour Round-up

Manchester United are tracking Juvntus midfielder Arturo Vidal with a view to making a move when the transfer window re-opens in January. Sir Alex Ferguson is chasing reinforcements for the centre of midfield and has been linked with PSV Eindhoven’s Kevin Strootment this week after missing out the Dutch international during the summer. Vidal, who scored in the Champions League meeting with Chelsea last week, is also on Ferguson’s list and club officials have already contacted Turin officials according to reports. The Red Devils boss sees the 25-year-old as the man to finally replace Roy Keane but will have to fend off interest from Real Madrid and Manchester City for the £40 million rated Chile international. Daily Mirror

Gunners keeping tabs on Basel star – Arsenal have become the latest club to send their scouts to watch FC Basel defender Aleksandad Dragovic after his excellent start to the season in Switzerland. The 21-year-old has won rave reviews for his performances in the early part of the campaign and St. Jakob-Park has become a regular home for scouts from Inter Milan, Roma, Fiorentina, Borussia Dortmund, Werder Bremen, Stuttgart and Marseille in recent weeks. Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is the latest manager to run the rule over the talented Austrian and is now thought to be planning more checks ahead of the transfer window re-opening in January Metro

Turkish giants chase Kaka – Galatasaray are hoping to pull off an audacious move to sign Kaka from Real Madrid should they reach the knockout stage of the Champions League. The Brazilian is out of favour at the Bernabeu and has been linked with Santos in his native Brazil along with potential big money moves to Russia and China. But Galatasaray president Aysal Unal says he is eager to tie up a deal for the 30-year-old but only if the Turkish giants navigate a route out of the group stages. Sporting Life

Alvarez back on Arsenal radar – Arsene Wenger is set to reignite his interest in Ricky Alvarez despite the winger snubbing an approach to Arsenal last year. The Gunners boss targeted Alvarez in the summer of 2011 while he was still at previous club Velez Sarsfield but turned down the chance to move to North London opting for a more lucrative switch to Italian giants Inter Milan. The Argentinian endured a mixed season at the San Siro and has yet to start a league game in the current campaign fuelling speculation over his future. Wenger is still a huge admirer of Alvarez and will reportedly make a bid for his services in January. talkSPORT
