Juventus to make fresh Walcott bid – Wednesday’s Rumour Round-up

Juventus are preparing to table a fresh £10 million offer to prise Theo Walcott away from Arsenal. The England international has seen contract talks with the Gunners breakdown after rejecting a long-term extension worth £75,000 a week. Walcott is into the final year of his current deal but decided to stay at the Emirates Stadium despite being courted by Manchester City on deadline day. However it appears as if Arsene Wenger is ready to cash in on the 23-year-old in January with Italian champions Juve ready to meet his £100,000-a-per week salary demands. Milan chasing Arsenal and Liverpool target Llorente – AC Milan are targeting a move for unsettled Athletic Bilbao striker Fernando Llorente in January but will have to beat off competition from Arsenal and Liverpool. The Serie A giants are in the market for a new forward after selling Zlatan Ibrahimovich to Paris Saint Germain in the summer. Spain international Llorente is keen to leave Bilbao and is also interesting Barcelona boss Tito Vilanova although its emerged that Juventus are reportedly close to signing a pre-contract agreement with the 27-year-old. talkSPORT

Liverpool and Juve battle for Argentinian teenager –  Liverpool will go head-to-head with Juventus in the race to sign Argentinian starlet Luciano Vietto. Scouts from a clutch of Europe’s heavyweight clubs have been dispatched to keep tabs on the 18-year-old Racing Club Avellaneda midfielder. Vietto is valued at £4 million and Reds boss Brendan Rodgers wants to bring him to Anfield in the New Year but will face stiff competition from Juve. Jovetic reveals City snub – Fiorentina striker Stevan Jovetic claims he snubbed a move to Manchester City in the summer opting to remain in Florence. The Montenegrin international was heavily courted by the Premier League champions during the transfer window but says he rejected a switch to the Etihad Stadium in order to stay loyal to the Viola. A flurry of reports this month have hinted that City will renew their chase for Jovetic but the talented 22-year-old has insisted he has no plans to leave the Stadio Artemio Franchi. He also insisted he would never leave Fiorentina to join fierce rivals Juventus who were also linked with a move. Metro
