Juventus are placed as 3/4 favourites to beat Lazio in the top Serie A cash of the weekend whilst Napoli look to close down the gap to Roma with a victory against struggling Chievo.
Juventus have dominated Serie A in the past couple of months but the defending champions will still need to be careful when they take on an inconsistent Lazio side on Saturday night.
The defending champions currently enjoy an 8 point lead at the top of the table in a season where they have only lost once all season long in the league.
For the trip down to the Stadio Olimpico, Antonio Conte’s side will be without veteran defender Giorgio Chiellini who is out injured.
Aside from that, it will be the same as usual with the conintue presene of Fernando Llorente and Carlos Tevez posing enough to extend Juve’s lead at the top of the table.
Lazio have been dreadfully inconsistent this season and their repeated mistakes have seen last year’s Coppa Italia winners drop to ninth in the table.
The good news for the hosts is that they are likely to wecome several payers back into the squad with Senad Lulic and Ogenyi Onzai both pushing for a first team place.
If there’s any hope for Lazio, it’s that they have a strong record at home this season winning six out of their nine games at the Stadio Olimpico and are unbeaten in their ast three games in the league.
Elsewhere on Saturday evening, Napoli will look to continue closing down Roma by picking up a home win against Chievo.
Napoli find themselves in third place in the table and a win would bring them to within one point of second placed Roma as the second half of the season gets firmly underway.
The home side will no longer have Eduardo Vargas in their squad having joined Valencia on loan although Federico Fernandez returns to the squad after his suspension.
Chievo are a poor run of form at the minute with the visitors having failed to win their last five games seeing them struggling in 16th place on the table.
There will be particular concerns about the form of their attcking players such as Alberto Paloschi with the team only scoring 4 goals in their last five games.
