Southampton striker, Lee Barnard, has agreed a three-year contract extension that will keep him at St. Mary’s until 2014.
The 26 year-old was instrumental in Southampton’s promotion back to the Championship last season, netting 15 goals during the campaign.
Despite only arriving from Southend in 2010, the striker has created a formidable partnership with Rickie Lambert.
Barnard saw some great form in March and April of last season, scoring six times in seven games. However, his tally was stopped at 15 as an injury against Bristol Rovers halted his season.
Romford-born Barnard is fully fit now though, and hoping to regain some of the form that earned him his contract extension.
