The Championship football season gets underway this weekend and one of the picks of the ties looks to be between Leeds United and Wolves at Elland Road, as William Hill make the Lilywhites favourites at 11/8.
Both teams will be looking to make a challenge for promotion this campaign and this encounter will be a good indication as to their chances of doing that.
Looking at Leeds to begin with, they have Neil Warnock in charge for his first full season so will have big expectations for the year.
Warnock is one of the experts in taking clubs from the Championship to the Premier League and the Yorkshire club are likely to be in and around the top six.
Weekend Premiership : William Hill Free Bet Offer
The football is back this weekend, with some superb matches to get stuck in to as William Hill announce a new free bets offer worth £25/€25 to all customers to spend on any match from the English Leagues. Claim here!
They have also brought plenty of players with top flight experience in this summer, including Adam Drury from Norwich, Paddy Kenny from Queens Park Rangers and El-Hadji Diouf – whose arrival at the club may surprise a few.
However, Leeds have lost captain Robert Snodgrass, which is a massive blow. Warnock will still feel confident about getting his team off to a flyer though and a win here would show they mean business.
As for Wolves, it is difficult to know what to expect from them. They were relegated from the Premier League in May and now have a new manager in Stale Solbakken.
Solbakken is unproven in English football and with the Championship being such a demanding league, he may find it tough.
That said though, they are also a team that has genuine Premier League experience and one of the strongest squads in the division with the likes of Roger Johnson, Kevin Doyle and Stephen Hunt.
The Midlands club will know that there will not be many tougher places to go in the league than Elland Road.
A good start is essential for a relegated club to lift the confidence in the group, a victory here would certainly do that.
It looks set to be a great encounter and it all gets underway from 12.45pm on Saturday.
