Leicester manager, Sven Goran Eriksson, has admitted that he was contemplating a late bid for winger Max Gradel, before the Leeds’ United player left to join St. Etienne.
The Ivorian has been in fine form for Leeds since he left Leicester in January 2010, alerting Championship and Premier League interest alike.
However, the 23 year-old chose to move to Ligue 1 instead, and embark on a new campaign with the French side.
Speaking to the Leicester Mercury, the Swedish boss said: “He is one who we discussed but there were a lot of clubs who had him on a so-called list.”
He added: “He was one for us, possibly, along with many others.”
