Leicester are ready to make a £7m offer to Reading for standout striker and Republic of Ireland international, Shane Long.
The forward has been subject to a heap of Premier League interest this summer, with the likes of Liverpool and Newcastle both being linked with moves for the 24 year-old.
Long scored 24 goals for Reading last season, in a campaign that saw the club reach the Championship playoff final, losing to Premier League new boys, Swansea City.
West Ham are also understood to have had a bid totalling £7m rejected by the Royals, but Foxes boss, Sven Goran Eriksson, is confident he can work some of his transfer magic.
The Swede has already spent big this summer, with the transfer tally coming somewhere close to £8m, a number that could soon increase.
