Leicester make formal bid for Reading star
It’s understood that Leicester have submitted a formal bid for Reading striker, Shane Long.
The Foxes have been rumoured to be thinking of a move for the Republic of Ireland international, joining the like of Everton, West Ham and Newcastle in being associated with his signature.
The striker scored 24 league goals last season as the Royals made a late rush for Championship promotion, reaching the playoff final where they were beaten by Swansea City.
Leicester manager, Sven Goran Eriksson, has already had a busy transfer window, spending big in the process.
Should this latest £7m bid for Long prove fruitful, it will take the Thai-owned club’s summer spending to £15m.
