Once again, the Championship is ready to entertain us all this weekend and there really do look to be some cracking games on show this Friday and Saturday.

Leicester will fancy their chances of winning though as they have been victorious in their last three matches, whereas Boro have lost back-to-back games, as Tony Mowbray’s side stutter in their bid for automatic promotion.

Moving onto Saturday, the early kick-off is between Derby County and Nottingham Forest. These two are of course fierce rivals and Pride Park is sure to be rocking for this one.

They each sit just outside the top six as well, so this is a big game in terms of bragging rights and league position, as the Foxes just about look the bet at 8/11.

At 3PM, Hull City make the journey to Peterborough United in a match between two sides with very different ambitions for the season. Hull are in second and looking good for promotion, whereas the Posh are in the bottom three.

The home side have been no strangers to springing a surprise or two this season though, so should not be written off, especially at home. With only one win in their last four games, Steve Bruce’s side are desperate for the win, but the relative banana skin of a trip to the Posh should see the home side take plenty of support at a value looking price of 12/5.

Ipswich Town host Barnsley as well and know a win could take them nine points away from the bottom three, which would be a massive boost for the squad and mean they can start looking up the table.

Burnley have notched up back-to-back victories and with that, moved to within touching distance of the play-offs. They make a tough trip to Millwall this weekend, knowing that a win would take them above their opponents in seventh. It should be a cracking 90 minutes.

Watford will be delighted with their season so far as they are in sixth right now, but they have another tough test at home to Huddersfield Town this weekend, who haven’t won in eleven matches, so are desperate for points. Gianfranco Zola’s side have slowly made progress up the table and the 4/5 available should be taken against a Town side which last won in November.

Blackburn Rovers and Charlton Athletic both sit on 36 points and have found some form in recent weeks, so it should be an interesting 90 minutes when these two meet at Ewood Park.

Leeds United have hit a slump in form and have only won one in their last four. They will be looking to end their poor run with a win at home to bottom of the table Bristol City.

Sheffield Wednesday take on Wolverhampton Wanderers in a match between two sides hovering above the relegation zone and Birmingham City host in-form Brighton & Hove Albion at St Andrews.

Dougie Freedman makes his return to Selhurst Park on Saturday afternoon as well as his Bolton Wanderers side take on Crystal Palace. Some believe he made the wrong decision in leaving, especially as Bolton are 16th and Palace are fourth, so he has a point to prove.

The late kick-off on Saturday sees the league-leaders Cardiff City in action as they take on Blackpool at Bloomfield Road.

The Welsh side haven’t tasted defeat in five matches, so will head to Blackpool full of confidence, especially as the home team have taken just two points from a possible 15.

With the managerial situation still unclear at Bloomfield Road the Tangerines look brittle and the 7/4 on the away win looks one of the bets of the weekend.
