After a very tricky patch, Carlo Ancelotti’s men got back on track with a win in the Champions League, beating Porto to finish top of their group, and that was followed up by a convincing 4-0 victory over Evian as Zlatan Ibrahimovic was once more amongst the goals.
Their opponents however, will be a tough proposition to overcome, as Daniel Sanchez’s side are currently unbeaten at the Stade du Hainaut.
Nice and Rennes are both in a good bit of form right now and currently sit in the top half. They also meet on Tuesday evening with Rennes knowing a win could move them up to third.
Lille and Toulouse lock horns and with both sides sting in the middle of Ligue 1, this could be a fairly evenly matched encounter.
Moving onto Wednesday’s games, it is the case of top v bottom as Lyon host Nancy. The home side are flying right now and will be expecting nothing other than a victory at the Stade de Gerlandin in this one.
Remi Garde’s side made it three wins on the bounce as they defeated Saint-Etienne last Sunday, and their price of 4/11 is sure to attract plenty of attention.
Nancy are sure to be looking to avoid a hiding and will try to keep their goal difference intact.
Marseille have struggled for consistency in recent weeks and seem to follow every win up with a defeat. They lost 3-0 at home to Lorient last time out, so need to take all three points at Bastia on Wednesday.
There is also a massive battle at the bottom of the table as Evian are at home to Troyes. These two are both in the bottom three right now and Troyes need the points desperately as they are seven adrift of safety.
Jean-Marc Furlan’s Troyes side have only won once in their opening sixteen games in Le Championnat, although they were unlucky not to make that two wins after a Cvitanich 92nd minute equaliser denied them a point against Nice last week.
Evian were thumped by PSG, 4-0 in Paris, however before that Pascal Dupraz’s side managed a four game unbeaten run, and will be hoping to get back to winning ways at the Parc des Sports. The 5/6 available on the home win looks about right.
Montpellier travel to Brest, whilst Ajaccio take on Reims and all four of these teams currently sit in the bottom half of the table, so there is plenty at stake in these ones.
Lorient have put together back-to-back wins and they host a Sochaux side hovering just above the relegation zone.
There is then one game on Thursday evening and it sees Saint Etienne travel to Bordeaux. With both sides in the top six, this should be a cracker.
