The Friday night game this week sees Lyon make the journey to Valenciennes and the away side can move back into top spot with a result here.
They would have been frustrated to only draw at home to Evian last time out and although a point would see them overhaul PSG, Lyon are sure to be after all three.
Valenciennes are a very strong side on their day, but they have won just once in their last six, so could be there for the taking.
On Saturday, the early kick-off is between Rennes and Marseille and the latter will be looking to keep the pressure on the top two with a win as they are just one point off the league-leaders right now.
Rennes are often strong at home though and have fourth place in their sights at the moment, so it should be an enthralling 90 minutes of action.
Bottom of the table Nancy, who suffered yet another defeat last time out, host a Lorient side that sit in sixth. Nancy are still seven points adrift of safety and each week that they don’t get a win makes it all the more likely that they will face the drop.
Troyes also look to be in real trouble as they are just one point ahead of Nancy. The side in 19th place entertain Bastia this weekend, who are in danger of being dragged into this relegation battle if they lose this one.
Neither Evian nor Ajaccio have won in their last four and they both hover above the bottom three. These two meet on Saturday evening in what is a real six-pointer at the foot of the table.
Sochaux’s back-to-back wins have lifted them clear of trouble and now they are on a good run, they will not want it to stop. They travel to Montpellier this weekend, so know they are in for a tough evening, but shouldn’t be afraid of the champions as they are not as strong this campaign.
Reims are in a shocking run of form and sit in 18th position, so know a result is needed at home to Toulouse. However, the away team are unbeaten in three and have a European spot in their sites, so it will not be easy.
There are then three games on Sunday, with the first of them being between Saint Etienne and Bastia. Saint Etienne are chasing a Europa League spot and will expect to come out on top here, especially as Bastia have won just twice on the road all season.
Nice and Bordeaux lock horns as well and with this being a battle between fourth and seventh, it should be a cracker. Bordeaux can overhaul their opponents with a victory, but it is going to be tough as Nice have won seven of their last nine league matches.
Finally, Paris Saint Germain can make sure they end the weekend on top spot of Ligue 1 with maximum points at home to Lille. It should be a routine home win for the side from the capital as well as Lille are down in tenth.
But, you never know what you are going to get with these two as both can be superb on their day, but have the tendency to go missing for 90 minutes.
Bring on the action in this superb division.
