Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur after Japanese talisman

Kagawa could be available for £15m but will want Champions League footballLiverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are both preparing summer moves for Borussia Dortmund playmaker Shinji Kagawa after having the midfielder watched on more than three occasions this season alone.

Kagawa has done tremendously well for Dortmund this season after an effective campaign last year which saw him help the Bundesliga club to the Championship title. this season has seen the Japan international feature in all games bar one for Jurgen Klopp’s team in the Bundesliga whereby he has netted four goals and set up five.

As one of the most speculated Japanese footballing imports he is a player of some excellent calibre and both Liverpool and Spurs will be hoping to nudge the other out as they look to bring him to their respective clubs in the summer.

With Tottenham currently leading the chase for a Champions League spot, and with a game in hand it appears the North London side are holding all the cards at the moment and with Liverpool and Arsenal trying to get that fourth spot, the Anfield side will find it hard to land Kagawa should they fail to make the elite competition next season.

Kagawa’s value has fluctuated over the last 18 months but it is believed that Dortmund would be be prepared to listen to offers in the region of £15m.
