Liverpool boss rallies his troops

Kenny Dalglish has called on his side to show their resilience and turn around their performance against Spurs on Sunday, and warned that the return of Steven Gerrard will not solve their problems alone.

The Scot watched his side play out a 4-0 drubbing against Tottenham on the weekend, finishing the game with just nine men after Charlie Adam and Martin Skrtel were sent for early showers.

Gerrard has been out since March, and the side will be glad to see his return, with Dalglish stating: “Stevie has done fantastically well to get where he is, and having him back in the side can only be a good thing.”

The Reds’ boss added: “But we know there is plenty of room for improvement after a defeat like that, and we have to correct the mistakes we made, improve on it and try to make sure it doesn’t happen again.”
