Former Newcastle full-back Jose Enrique has finally completed a dream move to Liverpool ready to face Sunderland on Saturday.
The Spaniard had been linked with a move to Anfield for most of the summer, and was clear to leave Newcastle United following a number of outbursts the defender made on social networking site, Twitter.
Speaking to the official Liverpool website, the 25 year-old stated: “This is one of the happiest days of my life.”
He added: “I have come to one of the biggest clubs not just in England, but in the world. I am really, really happy. Of course I am looking forward to playing in front of the Kop. Everybody speaks about the fans here and they are amazing. I hope it will be this weekend, but if not I can wait.”
New manager Kenny Dalglish will be happy with the ambition of his fresh charge, with Enrique going on to say: “My ambition is win everything with Liverpool. This year we won’t play in the Champions League, so the most important thing is to try and win the league.”
