Liverpool considering acquisition of two Premiership players

Gary Cahill would surely make an excellent acquisition for LiverpoolReports on Merseyside have suggested that Liverpool are keen to add some much needed English talent to the Liverpool squad by making two audacious bids this summer for both Scott Parker of West Ham, and Bolton’s centre-back Gary Cahill.

Both players are highly respected and would certainly be great additions with the only major barrier being that of cost. The Liverpool owners are not foolish and will not pay over the odds again as they did with Andy Carroll meaning they will not be held to ransom for either of the players.

Both Cahill and Parker in the Liverpool setup does have a ring to it and their organisation skills where defence is concerned could mean Liverpool mounting a serious challenge next season. Parker in particular would compliment Anfield Captain Steven Gerrard perfectly whilst Cahill would make an immense long term replacement for the aging Jamie Carragher.

Arsenal were at some point recently interested in Gary Cahill and the price for him was quoted somewhere upwards of £15m but Parker on the other hand should be available for somewhere from £8m. Should West Ham be relegated then the 30 year old could move for much less and at his age, Liverpool could be his last chance to get some silverware under his belt.
