Liverpool defender ready to fight for Premier League place
Liverpool starlet, John Flanagan, claims he is ready for the fight he faces in order to gain a first team place in the Reds’ setup.
The teenager played a starting role for the Merseyside outfit at the latter end of last season, but faces stiff competition in Glen Johnson and Martin Kelly.
Speaking to the Daily Star, the youth product noted: “There are areas where I need to get better such as going forward and crossing.”
He added: “With lads like Glen and Martin, there is plenty of competition in the squad. It means if you do get in the team you have to take the chance. Martin (Kelly) came in last season and did brilliantly.”
