Two weeks ago we revealed that Liverpool were preparing a move for Juventus’s Claudio Marchisio as part of a deal that would keep Albert Aquilani at the North Italian club.
However reports across numerous websites are today suggesting that rivals Manchester United are also tracking the 25 year old as they prepare for life without Owen Hargreaves on the treatment table.
Whilst Liverpool are currently keeping all transfer matters private, a figure of £15m – £18m has been quoted as enough to tempt Juventus into allowing their tough tackling midfielder depart.
The Anfield club will however be in pole position with their current midfielder Aquilani on loan at the club and a swap plus cash deal, with the right negotiating, will place them in a more tenable situation.
