Liverpool FC have confirmed that defender Sotirios Kyrgiakos has left the Anfield club for Bundesliga outfit Wolfsburg who currently under the managerment of Felix Magath.
The Greece international joined Liverpool in 2009 when Rafael Benitez was still in charge and made 49 appearances in two seasons.
Krygiakos told Wolfsburg’s official website:
“Wolfsburg are a good club, the championship in 2009, it’s still fresh in my head. I’m here to play, if possible in every game. I’m fit, but the coach decides when and if I get to play.”
Meanwhile Magath feels his presence should have an immediate impact on the side.
“Kyrgiakos is a player who will strengthen us immediately. He’s experienced, knows the Bundesliga and the rhythm and does not need time to adapt.”
