Liverpool FC have joined the list of clubs interested in Shakhtar Donetsk’s attacking midfielder Douglas Costa.
The Brazilian have been under the watchful eye of Chelsea, Tottenham and Arsenal over the last 12 months and it is believed that a bid of around £10m from either club could tempt the Ukrainian side into allowing the club to talk to the player.
Costa impressed the whole Europe during Shakhtar’s efforts in the Champions League last season and at just 20 years old is considered to be an up and coming Brazilian international having only represented his country at U20 level thus far.
Whether Liverpool will consider a bid this summer remains to be seen with the Anfield outfit seemingly looking for one more defender rather than another attacking option but with the club unable to offer Champions League football for at least one more season, Costa, should a bid from Liverpool’s rivals be forthcoming, may choose a side already in Europe for this campaign.
