Liverpool FC manager Kenny Dalglish has said how impressed he was with the side’s attitude during their 1-3 win away to Exeter in the Carling Cup which saw both Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll add their names to the scoresheet.
Whilst the result pleases Dalglish, he admits the attitude on Wednesday evening was a sign of things to come.
“The most important thing was to win, and why we won was because the players approached the game properly, there are a lot of positives to be had. Martin Skrtel and Danny Wilson have come through 90 minutes. Big Andy gets his first goal and Maxi gets his goal.”
The Liverpool manager added:
“So, we’re quite happy. To come and win 3-1 – we’re very pleased.”
However there was some bad news on the night with a collarbone injury to Raul Meireles who could be out for a few weeks.
“I don’t know how you define serious, but it could be a few weeks, he’s hurt his collarbone, he’s fallen heavy on it. He’ll come back up the road with us and we’ll have to see how long he’ll be out.”
