Liverpool FC manager not worrying about Spurs result

Liverpool FC manager Kenny Dalglish has insisted he is not going to worry about Tottenham’s fixture against Birmingham City this weekend and shall only focus on events against Aston Villa.

Liverpool will require a win at Villa Park on Sunday and hope that Birmingham create an upset so the Anfield side can qualify for the Europa League. However, with Birmingham facing relegation, and Tottenham only one point ahead of their Merseyside rivals, a point will not be enough for the North London side should Liverpool win at Villa.

Dalglish insists his Liverpool side will be fully focused on finishing as high up the table as possible.

“We want to end the season with a victory that would give us a chance of finish as high up the table as possible, that’s always been our aim and as long as a higher position is attainable we’ll continue to go for it.”

The Liverpool manager added.

“All we can do is concentrate on our own game and not worry about anyone else. We can’t affect another team’s results, so there is no point in worrying about it.”
