Liverpool are renewing interest in Bayern Munich striker Mario Gomez as the club look to add more quality for their next Premiership campaign.
The Anfield side were originally interested in Gomez prior to purchasing Andy Carrol and Luis Suarez in January however it is believed the Liverpool board wish to add one further top striker to provide goals and competition for places. Although from Germany, the player is deemed young enough at 25 years to be one for the future of Anfield and although Bayern Munich will not be happy to see the player leave they are preparing themselves for a bid of around €35m.
Gomez has struck the net 38 times for the Bundesliga giants in 61 league appearances and has scored 19 times in 46 international appearances. Liverpool have already signed Jordan Henderson for around £20m this summer however the board have claimed that Henderson was just the first of many high quality players that Liverpool had planned on bringing to the club this summer.
With Gomez another possibility, albeit unlikely, one can see Liverpool spending close to £100m this summer in their bid to claim the Premiership title once more.
