Liverpool FC unwilling to match asking price for highly rated defender

Dann would prefer Liverpool but will they match Birmingham City's valuation?Liverpool FC are unwilling to pay the asking price for Birmingham City defender Scott Dann with the Championship club demanding between £12m and £13m for the highly rated defender.

Dann received rave reviews for his work last season despite being injured for almost half of it and Chris Hughton is willing to listen to offers, so long as they are around the £13m mark. Liverpool manager Dalglish though is of the firm belief that the 24 year old is only worth £9m and the Anfield club are unlikely to go any higher until they sell some of their squad soon.

Liverpool’s reluctance to pay over the odds for Dann will alert other teams with Arsenal also suggested to be keen however Dann is a known fan of Liverpool and it is believed that Anfield would be his first choice.
