Liverpool FC will have to turn their interest and enquiries into £10m if they want to land Stoke City defender Ryan Shawcross with manager Tony Pulis slapping a heavy fee on the 23 year old to ward off any immediate interest.
The former Manchester United defender has impressed since joining Stoke with last season showing good maturity and helping Stoke on their way to the FA Cup final.
Liverpool have been linked with numerous defenders over the summer already and look to be about to tie up a deal for Newcastle United left back Jose Enrique although Dalglish is believed to also want a centre back, having lost out on Phil Jones to United at the beginning of the transfer window.
They believe Gary Cahill is too expensive and feel Birmingham City still want too much for Scott Dann, but with Shawcross to turn 24 in October, his age for £10m looks to be a big factor in any move by the Merseyside club.
